Known as Gosford Race Club, The Entertainment Grounds is the premier events location on the Central Coast. The Entertainment Grounds is an indoor and outdoor, multi-purpose community facility for functions, events, festivals, weddings, exhibitions as well as horse racing.

Track update from our Track Manager, Stephen Scollard at Gosford Race Club. It’s been one week since seeding, and the track is coming back nicely! 🌱
The team from Elite did a fantastic job with the sand grooving, leaving the track neat and tidy with minimal mess.
Following our recent soil test results, we’ve also made some amendments to the track profile and will now continue with our regular fertiliser program as we head into the warmer months.
The team will continue to monitor the progress closely as the track establishes and we look forward to seeing it continue to develop. 🏇🌱

Behind the Scenes of Racing! 🏇🎓
On Friday 28 August, we were proud to welcome local teachers and students to The Entertainment Grounds for a behind-the-scenes look at the racing industry.
Students had the opportunity to experience race day in action, meet our team and discover the diverse career pathways available across racing, from trackwork and racing to operations, administration, hospitality and more.
It was fantastic to see students getting involved, asking questions and exploring the many opportunities available within our industry. 👏
This program was a collaboration between the NSW Department of Education Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) Program, Team Thoroughbred NSW and The Entertainment Grounds.

The track renovation works are officially underway at Gosford, with our Track Manager, Stephen Scollard, taking us behind the scenes to explain what’s happening across the track.
The sand groover is currently working its way around the track, creating grooves approximately 125mm–150mm deep. These grooves will then be filled with around 500 tonnes of sand as part of the renovation process.
So, what does it all mean for the track?
– Reduces compaction – helping to loosen the track profile and improve its overall condition.
– Improves drainage – allowing water to move more effectively through the track profile.
– Improves the racing surface – creating better conditions for our horses and supporting a more consistent track.
It’s an important part of maintaining and improving the Gosford racing surface, helping us continue to provide the best possible conditions for racing.

GOSFORD TRAINERS PREMIERSHIP UPDATE – 31st August 2026
It’s been a busy week on the track, with our Gosford trainers delivering some impressive results. Here are a few highlights from the past week.
On the 25th August, Angela Davies’ Magatama got things underway at Newcastle, finishing 6th in the NZB 4yo&Up Maiden Handicap.
Adam Duggan had a great result, with Erina securing the win in the A-Plus Contracting & Poly Welding F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap. Brown Sugar also put in a great performance, finishing 3rd in the New FM/2HD Provincial Benchmark 68 Handicap.
On the 28th August, back at our home track, Kylie Gavenlock enjoyed a strong day, with Love Goddess finishing 2nd in the NCIS Sydney 4yo&Up Maiden Plate, followed by Renoir running 5th in the Hudson Trade Centre Mitre 10 CG&E Benchmark 64 Handicap.
Angela Davies was also on the podium, with Expido finishing 3rd in the Hudson Trade Centre Mitre 10 CG&E Benchmark 64 Handicap.
The competition is heating up, with Kylie Gavenlock and Adam Duggan both sitting on one win each on the Gosford Trainers’ Premiership ladder.

Gosford Barrier Trials: 31 August 2026
We head into our annual track renovations from Wednesday, 2 September 2026.
Our next race day and barrier trials will take place in October 2026.
It’s great to see 27 horses from the Kris Lees stable taking part in trials at Gosford today across our 16-trial program.
With horses spread across 11 of the 16 trials, it’s fantastic to see one of Australia’s leading trainers continuing to utilise the Gosford track as part of his stable’s preparation.
From open trials through to the maiden and 3YO events, there was plenty of young talent on show this morning 🐎
A big thank you to Kris Lees Racing for continuing to support Gosford, we love seeing the best in the business making the most of our track!
Previous Everest runner Mazu was back at the barrier trials at Gosford this morning, 30 August 2026. We caught up with trainer Joseph Pride, with Mazu putting in a fantastic run ridden by Ms Rachel King 🏇
