THE INAUGURAL COAST RACE DAY LAUNCHES IN SPECTACULAR STYLE!
What better way to launch the inaugural COAST RACE DAY, than with a beautiful horse, ridden by a local jockey, on iconic Terrigal Beach!
If you were anywhere near Terrigal Beach on Monday morning, chances are you would have spotted an unusual four-legged visitor playing in the sand! Retired racehorse Lucky Doubleo, renamed ‘Lacey’ was the star of an exciting photo shoot launching the inaugural Coast Race Day hosted by The Entertainment Grounds this Saturday, 8th May.
Local jockey Jenny Duggan joined the momentous occasion, making her debut after a nasty fall in May 2020, ahead of her return to the track later in the month. Other special guests who joined in the celebration; Sky Racing and Big Sports Breakfast presenter Jaimee Rogers, MP for Terrigal Adam Crouch, ex-jockey Jake Hull and Gosford Race Club’s CEO Daniel Lacey and Chairman Michael Cusick.

Not only will the event showcase top quality, metropolitan racing, including the Reward Group and Luux Properties Gosford Gold Cup, DeBortoli Wines Takeover Target and inaugural The Coast Race but we have a stellar line up of trackside activities including a Fashions on the Field competition boasting a $9,000 prize pool, live band on the front lawn and DJ in The Coast Lounge.
Getting to the event will be a breeze with free shuttle buses operating across the Central Coast, and continuing on a loop from Gosford Train Station throughout the day, so jump online for pick up & drop off locations and to register for your spot.
For guests looking to continue on after the race day, The Entertainment Grounds have teamed up with local bars and restaurants including The Joker & Thief Terrigal. Book your tickets to ‘The Toast to The Coast Afterparty’ and continue the celebrations deep into the night!
