The Entertainment Grounds is pleased to announce the inaugural Gold Cup Sports Volunteer Awards proudly supported by Star 104.5 for 2018/2019 which aim to celebrate, support and recognise local sporting coaches and volunteers from sporting clubs around the Central Coast.

“People from all age demographics and walks of life participate in sport, health and fitness on the Central Coast. With a wide choice of sporting activities, brings an ever greater number of participants, staff and volunteers and without these local heroes, the clubs would cease to exist. The Entertainment Grounds Sports Volunteer Awards aims to celebrate, support and recognize these local heroes whilst also supporting these local clubs,” said CEO Daniel Lacey.

The Entertainment Grounds will distribute over $8,000 in prizemoney and hospitality vouchers that will be awarded to five finalists from each category, including the overall winners. The prizemoney will be awarded to the winners club whilst the winning representative receives the hospitality component.

These categories and prizes will include:

  1.  Under 12’s Coach – 1 x Winner: $1,000, 1 x Runner Up: $200, 5 x Finalists: 10 General Admission tickets and a $50 hospitality voucher per finalist.
  2. Over 12’s Coach – 1 x Winner: $2,500, 1 x Runner Up: $500, 5 x Finalists: 10 General Admission tickets and a $50 hospitality voucher per finalist.
  3. Volunteer – 1 x Winner: $1,500, 1 x Runner Up: $200, 5 x Finalists: 10 General Admission tickets and a $50 hospitality voucher per finalist.

Local community members are encouraged to nominate their local heroes, or even themselves from Thursday 1st November 2018 through an application process on The Entertainment Grounds website in one of the three categories.

On Friday 30th November, the nomination process will conclude, and a voting process will commence on Friday 14th December 2018 until Friday 11th January 2019. The winners from each category will be determined through both the public vote via Facebook and from a judging panel from The Entertainment Grounds.

The winner of each category will be announced by a Gosford Race Club Board member at an Awards Presentation which will take place on the annual Gosford Quarries Gosford Gold Cup Raceday on Thursday 17th January 2019.
